Latest Audio Visual Technologies from ISE 2018

The Integrated System Europe event was back in full swing this year, proof that the Audio Visual landscape is more buoyant than ever (if we ever needed one!)

ISE 2018 was the largest and busiest Integrated Systems Europe in its 15-year history. Across all 15 halls, visitors experienced a vibrant showcase of the latest AV and systems integration technologies, products and solutions. Almost 35,000 visitors attended the first day of the show and over 30% of the total attendees were visiting ISE for the first time.

Some of the technologies that caught my eye in particular were:

Video walls:

Video wall display solutions are becoming increasingly popular in retail, NOC (Network Operation Centre) and business lobbies or reception areas as they are great to display interactive signage.

They are available in different technologies (LCD, LED rear-projection and RGB laser rear-projection), sizes and resolutions. Curved or wavy video walls are the latest addition to the range. Selecting the right video wall for your needs is sometimes a tedious task, so make sure to get impartial advice to find the perfect solution for your application.

Wireless presenting made easy with Barco ClickShare

Wireless presentation systems are so simple and easy to use, they are great tools to boost productivity of your meetings & presentations. They can share your screen content directly and in real time.  Adaptable to the needs of large conference rooms to small huddle spaces, wireless presentation gateways provide team members and guests with a solution for quick and easy wireless presentations from any device as well as on board tools designed to make meeting and training more productive.

Barco Clickshare is a major manufacturer, but Polycom have just launched their new Pano collaboration tool as well. Crestron Air Media is also planning to release a new wireless presentation tool this year, which will be pre-integrated into all their solutions.

 Videxio – integration with Skype

Videxio integration with Skype for business

As thousands of companies roll out Skype for Business as their primary collaboration platform, many face the challenge of system interoperability with their existing video conferencing devices from vendors such as Cisco, Polycom, Huawei, and others. In addition, many companies have seen the need for the connection to happen within the native user experience with which their employees are familiar.

The Videxio solution ensures that both Skype and videoconferencing system users retain their native meeting and call experiences. The service enables users of dedicated video conferencing devices to join Skype meetings and ensures seamless cross-platform communication in a Skype for Business environment.

A Skype user hosts a Skype meeting, and a videoconferencing system user joins a video call. Collaborators can also connect directly point-to-point from one technology to the other, without having to schedule a meeting. As the meeting experience is retained across technologies, users will not need to learn something new, or worry about how to connect into the meeting.
